Neutralize Acid in Your Drinking Water
Our Whole House Acid Neutralizing Water Filters utilize a naturally occurring, crushed and screened white marble (calcium carbonate media) to treat acidic or low pH water, adjusting it to a neutral and less corrosive state.
How Acid Neutralizing Filters Work
When water with an acidic pH (below 6.8) passes through the filter, the calcium carbonate media slowly dissolves into the water. This action effectively increases the pH to a neutral level. Over time, typically every 2 to 3 years (depending on your water usage and the initial pH of your water), this media will need to be refilled. The system also features an automatic backwashing function to clean the media bed and prevent compaction.
System Configuration Considerations
This system is specifically designed for neutralizing acidic water.
- If you desire clear, filtered water with a balanced pH in addition to acid neutralization, it is recommended to configure your system with an optional SMART filter.

The acid neutralization process may increase water hardness. If you require softened, filtered, and pH-balanced water, consider configuring the system with an optional Water Softener.
Core Filtration Stages
The acid neutralizing system incorporates the following stages:

Pre-filtration: Water first flows through a 20-inch sediment cartridge to remove particulate matter such as sediment, silt, sand, and dirt.

Acid Neutralizing Water Filter: The water then passes through a mineral tank containing the acid-neutralizing filtration media. Small amounts of our ERA® 6500 & 9500 media are also added to this tank to help prevent bacteria growth.

Post-filtration: Finally, water flows through a 20-inch solid carbon cartridge. This stage is for removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and any remaining insecticides, pesticides, and industrial solvents.
Optional System Enhancements

SMART Water Filter (Optional): You can add a SMART Water Filter featuring our SMART Multimedia. This blend includes two types of coconut shell Granulated Activated Carbons (Standard & Catalytic GAC) infused with Eagle Redox Alloys® 6500 & 9500, and an ion exchange resin. This combination reduces contaminants such as heavy metals (e.g., lead & mercury), chlorine, chloramine, and inorganic products like herbicides, pesticides, and petroleum/pharmaceutical by-products. Ceramic and Tourmaline balls are also included to enhance the water and maintain a more alkaline pH.

Water Softener (Optional): A water softener, which uses an ion exchange resin and a brine water conditioner, can also be integrated. This is often recommended because the acid neutralization media can increase water hardness.Hard water (containing minerals like calcium and magnesium) can cause staining, reduce soap lather, and leave a film on your skin. It also heightens the risk of limescale buildup in pipes and appliances, reducing efficiency and potentially increasing water heating costs by 15-20%. Water softening helps extend the lifespan of household machinery and pipelines and improves the performance of water-based systems

Important Tank Information
Be aware that pinholes or rust can occur on stainless steel tanks in environments with high humidity, if salt is present, or if condensation remains on the tank without being routinely wiped down. If your system will be exposed to these conditions, or if regular maintenance is not feasible, a fiberglass tank is recommended.

To be eligible for a return:
